About the Role


Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test plans and protocols for electronics and mechanical testing of battery packs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Perform a wide range of electrical tests, including voltage, current, resistance, insulation resistance, and thermal testing, to evaluate the performance and reliability of battery pack electronics.

Conduct mechanical tests such as vibration, shock, drop, and environmental stress testing to assess the durability and robustness of battery pack mechanical components.

Collaborate with design and development teams to identify potential design flaws or weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement based on test results.

Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot any issues or failures encountered during testing, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.

Maintain accurate and detailed test records, documentation, and reports, and effectively communicate test results to relevant stakeholders.

Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies related to battery pack electronics and mechanical testing.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices during all testing activities, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements


  1. 0-2 years experience and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  2. Proven experience in electronics and mechanical testing of battery packs or similar energy storage systems.

  3. Solid understanding of battery pack components, including battery cells, protection circuitry, connectors, thermal management systems, and mechanical enclosures.

  4. Proficiency in using various electrical and mechanical testing equipment, instruments, and software for data acquisition and analysis.

  5. Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing battery pack testing, such as ARAI 156.

  6. Familiarity with battery performance parameters, safety considerations, and failure analysis techniques.

  7. Ability to interpret and analyze test data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to drive product improvement.

  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  9. Effective communication skills to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  10. Prior experience with battery management systems (BMS) and electrical modeling/simulation tools is desirable.
